 A breath taking preformance...May 12, 2007

I first saw a small glimpse of this video from YouTube. I was very interested to see more. After a bit of searching, I found the dvd.
The performance by this group is breathtaking. The performers not only capture the dances of the Orisha, but also include a performance to the Egun, and Palo related dance, as well as traditional cuban dances...and even something for the Abakua!
The editing effects are not the greatest, but what they lack is more than made up by the performers.
I would highly recommened this to anyone interested in seeing some of the visuals behind Santeria, Palo Mayombe, Abakua, or anything in relation to the Orisha, Egun, & Nkisi.

This is the best Orisha movie. It has great songs, vivid details and great story line on the life of the Orishas. Must have knowledge on the Orishas to understand what they are saying by dancing.

Musicalmente esta excelente lo que suena en el dvd de este gran grupo cubano, pero en ves de mostrar el recital en vivo esta todo editado con clips de danzas folcloricas que no es lo que me interesaba ver realmente.

Yoruba Andabo is an awesome group of inspiring singers, dancers and musicians. Their commitment to the Orishas and their reflection on the legendary patakis are phenomenal. It's a shame that it wasn't longer!!

This DVD is nothing more than what amounts to an MTV "lip sync-ed" style Afro-Cuban "Music video".
There is actually "no "live playing or singing" until the credits roll at the very end... and only then for a few moments.
The drummers and singers all lip sync everything on this DVD.
In fact, unbelievably....the songs you actually hear on this 2005 production are from their 1993 CD "Callejon De Los Rumberos"!
The company from Spain who put this DVD out really should be ashamed of this.
