Remember when you thought you were really cool 'cause you listened to Brubeck and thought "Timeout" explained hip. Then, I don't know, kids, bills, Heavy Metal. Well, hipster, welcome back. Man, this album is a smoky, dim, club at 2:30 a.m. and last call. Haslanger's four player combo (sax, piano, bass, drums) lays down eleven tracks of timeless cool. The album notes explain that it was cut in the studio in 5 hours, featuring numbers written by jazz greats like Charlie Parker and Sonny Rollins. Bam, nailed on tape and recorded. Road rage? Slip this into your car player and go with the flow.

So many musicians do not seem to love music. Listening to this album, it is clear that Elias loves music, and this transforms his work.
