For music, dance and Richard Gere FansAug 20, 2010
A good showing of Richard Gere in a mature role. Jennifer Lopez and Susan Sarandon shine well, too. A feel-good movie with great dancing from actors not usually on the dance floor.

Amazingly, Richard Gere has wonderful chemistry with both Jennifer Lopez and Susan Sarandon. Then again ... he's Richard Gere! This movie is so full of happiness, laughter and just plain old fun. The supporting cast is as good and essential to the movie's success as are the leading actors. Stanley Tucci delivers physical comedy that had me laughing out loud. He is definitely under-rated as an actor.
This movie has no smut, no swearing, no violence, no anger, no nastiness, no nothing negative. It simply makes you smile and want to take ballroom dancing lessons pronto.
Richard Gere and Stanley Tucci are really great dancers. The special features section will give you a peek at how they learned for this movie. You'd think they'd been doing it for years.
Call up some of your girlfriends, or gather your tween and teen daughters, and settle in for a real treat of a movie with a happy, joyful ending. Then ... get up and dance to the special feature video by the Pussycat Dolls.

This movie takes a serious but fun-loving look at how we sometimes get caught up in the "rut" of life, missing out on those things that intrigue us or lost desires. Each character finds what really makes them smile on the inside through the art of Ballroom Dancing. Richard Gere, Jennifer Lopez, and Susan Sarandon give, as always, outstanding performances.

Gere, Lopez and Saradon very good cast all doing this film their best. I love how the film took the foreign film and made it American very well. The dancing was great and the love in the family was there. I can't say enough positive things about this well done film.
