The best method I have found so far to teach French to my small kids (6 & 3 yrs old). They both continually ask for Professor's Toto DVD's, enjoy going through it and memorize its catchy songs.
Major benefits:
* Native French Pronunciation at regular conversational speed
* Very attractive cartoons for Kids (using animals,kids,games)
* Catchy Songs that kids easily memorize
* No need to know French yourself to guide your kids through it

I bought this set 2 years ago to give my young boys (currently 3 & 5) an introduction to the French language. So far I have only used the dvds and have not attempted to use the coloring/workbook. This is primarily because they are still a bit young to truly get the full benefit of them, in my opinion, and I don't want to waste them. Also, much to my disappointment, my eldest, at least, has shown very little interest in going beyond watching the dvds. He prefers to learn sign language right now, so that's where we have turned our focus for the time being. I fully anticipate giving this another try later on, but for now the dvds are a welcome change in the usual kid video line-up and at least they are being exposed to other sounds and the concept of what a foreign language is.
BTW - As a mother & home educator I love the product and can find no fault in it except perhaps for rudimentary graphics/animation, but really, not much more is required as the dvds still hold my kids' attention. The information is presented clearly and pronounced correctly. When they watch the dvds regularly I can quiz my kids on the vocabulary presented and they will answer with a very satisfactory amount of correct answers given their current level of interest. Also, for those wondering, I see nothing even potentially offensive/inappropriate in the storylines presented.
Yes, the price is a bit steep, but there aren't a lot of quality options out there for introducing french to young children and this one is comparably priced. (And far less expensive than Muzzy!)

Don't buy, only 1 hour of actual course time (1/2 hour on 2 cds). There are more cds but one consists of songs, the other one is a summary of the vocabulary from the two class cds. Your child will not know French after that and my kids already speak some French and they already understand French as i am From France.
