New York City based studio, the Nightlife Media Group selected the hottest, easiest-to-learn dance moves and broke them down for you, step by step. This video teaches you exactly how to dance in clubs so you can have better, wilder experiences when you go out. Here is how it works. First, just the guys show you each move full throttle, then slow it down, and teach it to you from the front, back and other angles with close-ups so the specifics are easy to see and learn. Everything is covered. They tell you exactly what to do, how to stand, where to put your hands. Interviews throughout the video with real girls breakdown common mistakes most guys make. Then the instructors show you exactly how each move should look when you are dancing with a partner. Things get even more intense when they show you exactly how to grind and provide you with smooth transitions to get a girl dancing closer to you. Nothing outrageous, nothing cheesy, this video teaches you fun and practical dance moves so that you can be relaxed and confident when you're out dancing.

5Exactly what I was looking forMay 27, 2007
By R. Malhotra
This is my second hip-hop instructional video purchase, and the first that delivered what it promised. Rather than featuring stage dancers who tell you the most important thing is to feel the groove, it features club-going dancers who break down simple club moves (like grinding and side-stepping) into almost idiot-proof steps. They demonstrate these from multiple angles, speed them up, and then have ladies come out onto the dance floor to show what the interaction might be like when you are doing this move at the club. It would have been nice if some of the moves were even more idiot proof, but careful repeat viewings of instructions do the trick.

As a bonus, there are interview segments where "real girls" talk about what they are looking for in a guy at the club, along with do's and don'ts. The advice is generally good, and it is clear that these are women who spend a lot of time at clubs. I do feel that they could have found more attractive women to give this same advice.

The day I wanted to go out, I opened the video up, and watched and practiced a few moves, getting the basic feel for them. When I went to the club, I was stunned by how simply most people dance. Girls who I was afraid to dance with before were more approachable, because it was clear that they have pretty much no idea what they're doing! My rudimentary skills gotten from one hour of practice were enough to give me the confidence to go out there. I believe that whether or not that is true for you or your scene, this video has enough to make you comfortable provided you practice it.

Overall, if you're shy and avoiding the clubs because you feel like you can't dance, this video is exactly right for you.

5Extremely effectiveApr 01, 2007

I've been a dance instructor for over 10 years and currently own two dance studios. I often buy instructional dance dvds to compare my teaching style and expand my classrooms. Hip Hop Moves for The Club did an exceptional job of screening the best beginners moves one can find in a club. The instructors did a great job of isolating the most important part of every move and explaining it in such a way that every beginner can understand and follow. The instructors also did an excellent job of building upon each move to show different styles and provide suggestions for every body part. In teaching moves that involved feet for example, they never forgot to explain what you should be doing with your hands and upper body. The video itself was in tune with most other instructional videos in the genre - it too had different angles, especially close-ups and shots from the back. I think what I enjoyed most about this product was its refreshing approach to an age old question on how to dance. This DVD teaches moves that are specific to nightclubs and the modern style of dancing. I will certainly recommend this product to my beginners class.

5Great for Women, too!Oct 07, 2008

Hey, Im a girl - and I LOVE this dvd for me! I sometimes want to dance more masculine without the bump and grind. When I do this dvd I definately feel more missy elliot (allbeit when Missy was in Kindergarten lol) than say the Pussycat Dolls. It's more chill because it's for guys than overtly sexual like the dvds for girls. This is an awesome video for girls who want to look MORE chill and not so much dancing pornstar. Not all girls might agree with me, but I think this dvd rocks for the ladies as well.

Now for the dvd itself - these moves are extremely easy to execute. Surprise! Thats how its supposed to be. You can totally fool a room if you can teach your body how to find the vibe in a song. You dont have to be an excellent dancer - this dvd is not about turning heads - its about how to blend and be comfortable when you arent an amazing dancer.

This dvd will teach any guy how to very casually move out into a dancefloor and hang there thru any song that comes along.

Dance is about attitude - but the confidence in that attitude comes from getting used to just moving your body in little ways. And actually developing strength in your muscles as you move in dancelike ways. A week tops of doing this every day and you should be confident to dance publically.

Ive got a ton of dance dvds. I wont name them but they are all the big ones on here that claim they can teach anyone to dance. They dont. They are so hard. So purely and distractingly technical.

I really love this video. Dance videos almost inevitably are so hard to learn you really feel ripped off. Not the case here ---

This video is for you if your scared to dance in public and cant count or keep the beat. Boy or girl. This one is really for you. And if you can keep the beat? This is a nice easy workout video too believe it or not. Its slow and steady and simple. I love slow and steady or nice and easy at times, like the instructor says.

People who say this dvd is a waste are already ok dancers not needing a confidence boost or a way to learn how to just groove without stress. If your an ok dancer you'll find this slow - but still fun. Think a 3-am slowjam in your pajamas for reference.

I love it and I can dance freestyle with no problem.

Infact, now that I think of it, this dvd is a very good (majority) non-sexual dvd for teens of both sexes that want to dance. Tho your interpretation of 'nonsexual' might vary with mine. The main point is, the dvd is about dancing not bumping and grinding the night away. It really is about finding your own inner rhythum and confidence.

You won't be a Britney Spear's backup dancer after you complete it - but you won't be the wallflower on the sidelines anymore, either.

And that is the dvd's entire purpose.

And as a bonus? They're super-nice instructors, too.

5Confidence boost in and out of the club.Jul 12, 2007
By Mr. P "Mr. P"
If you're sick of standing around feeling like a lemon who doesn't look like he's having much fun (like I've felt in clubs for years) while other guys and gals are dancing away - this is the solution, period.

I received my copy around 2 weeks ago after 6 years of going out drinking and never *once* dancing. Sure I'd been asked before by a few women, but I didn't know how, I didn't think I could, I didn't even think I would *enjoy* it. I always turned the invitations down.

It's all changed now and even though I've only watched the DVD twice over and practiced for around 15 minutes in total, I'm confident in my basic ability to dance and the thought of dancing doesn't phase me anymore. I know I could dance the entire night with only a few basic moves I've learned from this DVD if I wanted.

It's exactly what I needed as a total beginner - there's simple side to side movements mixed in with plenty of actual 'moves' that stand you out as someone who *knows* how to dance and places you firmly above most people in the club who don't really know what they're doing.

There's at least 7 interchangeable moves on this DVD. I haven't mastered them all yet and there's only one I didn't like the look of, but with the few I've practiced so far, I was able to dance in the bar last Saturday and actually 'let go' and enjoy the atmosphere. It's a real buzz.

One aspect of the DVD I liked was there were 3 different dance teachers for each move, demonstrating different techniques and individual styles. That means, for every move, you're getting 3 different ways of doing it... meaning there's over 21 combinations. On some moves, you may not like what one teacher is doing, but like what the other two are doing... you simply pick which version of each move you like from the 3 demonstrated... or even add your own little twists on top.

Overall it's a mega boost to your confidence which flows out in to your real life away from the clubs/bars too. It's great knowing you can do something, do it well and have the ability there any time you want to go out and guarantee a fun night.

The thought of dancing should be exciting, not daunting or scary. This DVD changes it all and I thoroughly recommend it, especially to complete beginners like I was.

5Great moves for beginnersDec 01, 2008
By L. Cortez
When it came to dancing, I had no rhythm or skills what so ever. I wanted a DVD that would teach me simple, basic moves for dancing at clubs and this DVD delivered. I have other DVD's, but they are somewhat more focused on moves you would see in a music video or choreographed for dance groups even though they claim to be moves for dancing at clubs. The moves on this DVD are flexible enough that you can change it up with your own style. I also like the added feature of how the moves look like when dancing with a girl and an added section at the end that teaches you how to get closer to a girl and sharpen up your skills dancing with a partner. I don't understand why other people rated this DVD low. I'm assuming that they know enough dance moves or have danced for a while and these beginner moves don't look like much to them. I think this DVD is perfect for beginners. I'm waiting for volume 2 for men.
