This is an introduction to Shiatsu Massage to help people learn to massage their friends and family. Jerry Luglio teaches the basic techniques, including pressure points and passive stretching. How to work each area of the body, including face and feet. The camera zeroes in on each technique for ease in viewing as Mr. Luglio explains what he is doing. You can follow along with the tape as you massage someone or learn from the tape first and then massage. Mr. Luglio also explains how to correct some basic posture problems with massage and stretching techniques for the masseur to loosen up before and after the massage. There is a follow up video, Advanced Shiatsu Massage by Mr. Luglio, which delves into locating and using the pressure points and energy meridians. (Also available from Amazon.com).

Very thorough introduction to this massage. Feels like attending a real class with a professor of massage. You can follow along with the tape easily.

Bought this DVD to deepen my knowledge and improve my technique as a Cerified Massage Therapist and a graduatee in Massage Therapy at College.
Was greatly disappointed with the material presented in this DVD and its poor quality. It looks more like a home made video than a serious hands-on visual manual.

This video gives you all the basic techniques of Shiatsu Massage. Jerry Luglio presents this training very well. He seems like a college professor as he explains the use of palm pressure, finger pressure, passive stretching and other techniques. You can follow this video and massage your friends of family. You don't need to know anything beforehand. Mr. Luglio's Advanced Shiatsu Massage gets more into the meridians and how to find the points, but this video is for the average person who just wants to get massaged by someone he or she knows. Its a wonderful contribution to helping people relax.
