Best dance instruction on the marketMay 03, 2010

The Librero "How to become a good dancer" series is probably the best dancing instruction product on the market. Their DVDs are easy to follow for the men and ladies parts. The angles are simple yet effective and you never have to pause and reply 10 times to figure out how to perform a figure (move). They use a progressive and interchangeable system where figures (moves) build on one another and they show how some figures (moves) can be used in various dance styles.
This DVD contains various dances show only the basic step and 1 or 2 figures (moves) for each dance. It is great to see how the dances are performed and is a good guide to find out which dances you would like to learn.
The only critique I can give is that you must already have basic rhythm since they don't teach it in the DVD but by going through the video once a day for 2 weeks you should be able to develop basic rhythm if you don't have it yet. (Basic rhythm is your ability to find the base rhythm of any piece of music, once you poses it for once music style you should be able to identify it for any piece of music). This critique is really low priority since I have not yet found any instructional DVD that teaches you basic rhythm.

My wife and I have purchased A LOT of dance instruction DVDs, most of which have been totally useless.
I can tell you that these are by far the best we've come across!
We found both the Librero's beginner's series, "Big band, Swing & Nightclub Dancing" and "Latin Dancing & Argentine Tango" easy to understand and follow.
Their experience with teaching people to dance is obvious and their elegant dance style when they demonstrate the patterns is a good role model to imitate.
We would definitely recommend them to anybody who is an absolute beginner and has been frustrated trying to learn to dance.
