First Tap for Adults - Judy Ann Bassing

9641D (DVD) This DVD is a non-chaptered video stream in a clear unmarked case which shows the label of the disc. This title was originally produced as a VHS tape. It has been professionally reproduced on a DVD-R disc. Judy Ann Bassing, with the help of six adult tap dancers, presents this beginning adult tap class using the music from the album, "First Tap - Music For Tap Class". The dancers first perform a routine Judy created especially for them. The exercises which follow contain the movements and rhythms of this routine. These exercises help the dancers to polish their technique on steps which will be used in the routine. The routine is then broken down into segments and demonstrated slowly for easier learning. The entire routine is then performed up to tempo with the music. This format offers a perfect example of Judy's style of teaching beginners of all ages. The six dancers range in age from thirty six to sixty eight and have a different amount of training and experience. This mixture of ages and training represents the typical circumstances found in a beginning adult tap class. Judy has created this visual teaching aid to help more adult dance students discover the joy of tap dancing.
