A valuable library addition for anyone interested in Snake Dancing.Nov 01, 2009

I have been bellydancing for approximately 7 years. As I am searching for new areas to explore (everyone here is Caberet, Tribal, Triberet) to expand my bellydancing, I decided to try snake dancing. I did a lot of study on the subject, but all I could find was written articles. Don't get me wrong, the written articles were worth their weight in gold and I have impressed Herps with my knowledge even though I was a Newbie. I just had no instructional visuals of bellydancing with a snake.
Serpentessa goes through so much information on the snakes. There are preformance clips, training clips, and she does talk a lot about snake care. She does not hid the fact that she had been bit by her dance snakes. She is very ademant that the snakes are dance partners and not props. She encourages "living with your snake" (raising) and as I had started do just that, I understood more and more.
I originally found this item of eBay and was trying to "Best Offer" buy it, when I quickly realized that the individual selling was refusing Best Offers that were below her asking price. I decided to look for it in Amazon and found it for much cheaper!
I could not be happier with my purchase or with Amazon. I can only hope the seasoned snake bellydancers will also follow in Serpentessa's footsteps and make more such video available.

I have been mentored by Serpentessa via email for the past 3.5 years, and although I have owned and performed with snakes for the past 5 years, I still found many useful dance techniques, tips and suggestions in this DVD. The basket tricks and floor work are definitely my favorite parts of this DVD. There are also several beautiful performances featuring Serpentessa and her wonderful serpentine dance partners. This is a wonderful and valuable DVD for anyone who has ever wanted to own and perform with serpents.

Serpentessa has brought forth the mystery and the majesty of the serpent in a beautiful, evocative way. The mingling of form and information is very effective. Serpentessa communicates her love for these wondrous reptile beings through both her body and her being. The audience is caught up the the glorious dance and becomes one with that love. Thank you, Serpentessa for this lovely, loving presentation.

This a very inspirational and educational presentation in regards to dancing with snakes. Whether you aspiring to, or already have danced with snakes, there is valuable information for everyone. I got some great ideas from her performances on the DVD.....highly recommended!
