My daughter loves it. Barbie movies have the same spirit that Disney classics once had.
Sweet movie for little girlsApr 30, 2009
I ordered this because my daughter has really gotten into Barbie's and Barbie Movies lately. So I thought to maybe start a collection for her. I was pleasently surprised how sweet this one was. It was fun to watch and heart-warming. Our favorite is The Diamond Castle, but now we have a second favorite. I recomend this for all little girls who love Barbie.

My daughter is seven years of age and wanted this movie for her birthday. She absolutely loves this movie. She also likes the extra bonus features that are provided. The act along with the movie portion is her favorite part. I would recommend this movie to anyone who likes barbie, the nutcracker, or ballet dancing. There is also an informative short documentary on the DVD about the life of six students that attend the New York City school of ballet.
Forget Stanwyck, Bush and Streisand: Barbie's Your Ballerina Feb 02, 2009
I'll admit I probably wouldn't be giving the world's two most spectacular grand-daughters, aged 3 and 4 respectively, Barbie dolls were it not for the lure of the "forbidden." Only colleagues who have spent their lives in academia might understand how Barbie would fall into the category of the illicit, but P.C. policing continues to be pernicious even among fellow members of the A.C.L.U. (on the whole, an organization deserving every American's support). Most importantly, Barbie comes through as a princess with boundless flair, invention and autonomy in the eyes of my granddaughter, who called me to say she'd watched the movie 3 times since receiving it (I swear I ordered it from Amazon the day before!). And the evaluation comes from someone who has seen the Baryshnikov tape many times as well as attended the production by the Philadelphia ballet. Never underestimate Barbie (Rumor has it, she's about to become Barbara. Say it isn't true, Babette!)
