During the years that followed, he worked as a principal dancer in various ballet companies in the former Soviet Union, Germany and United States including Leningrad State Ballet Theater under the directorship of Mr. Boris Eifman, (1987-1989), Russian Ballet, (1989-1990), Komische Oper Berlin, (1990-1992), Dortmund Ballet, (1992-1994), Hannover Ballet (1996-1998) and Diablo Ballet (1998-2003). In 2003-2005 he served as Associate Artistic Director and Resident Choreographer for Moving Arts Dance, Walnut Creek, CA. Mr. Kabaniaev has performed principal roles in many classical, neoclassical and modern ballets and has toured extensively in France, Iraq, Poland, Singapore, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, Liechtenstein, Sweden, Austria, Panama, and Thailand. Mr. Kabaniaev choreographed his first piece "Transfigured Night" in 1997 for Hannover Ballet Workshop. In July of 1997, he was awarded a Special Prize for his second choreography "Adagietto" at the 29th Annual Ballet Festival of Japan, held in Tokyo. Mr. Kabaniaev has created over twenty works for Hannover Ballet, Diablo Ballet, Moving Arts Dance, Moving Arts II, Contra Costa Ballet, Arizona Dance Company Instinct and Polish Dance Company "Trojmiejski Teatr Plastyki Ruchu." He also re-staged his works for Cincinnati Ballet and Peninsula Ballet. Mr. Kabaniaev's works were presented in Republic of Belarus, France, Germany, Poland, Japan and United States. In 2004 he won the First Laureate for Choreography of his "White Light" at the 3rd International Serge Diaghilev Competition for Choreographers, Gdynia
